On completion of my HSC examinations, I joined the marketing department of a private company and earned a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,500 per month. I continued working along with pursuing my higher studies and after my graduation I joined BirlaSun Distribution Company Limited as an advisor. With no prior experience in finance, a senior colleague opened doors to a completely new world of financial planning. My thirst for knowledge has helped me on a personal level pushing me to attain greater heights. As an advisor, I focus on my clients requirements and advice them accordingly. Today service and experience is what the client requires and if one can offer this, it works like magic when one is prospecting for new clients. With an aim to sell a product to myself before selling it to the client, I also help my clients by providing solutions regarding old UTI certificates and transactions. Knowledge about financial instruments among investors and advisors is a basic requirement and I endeavor to spread Mutual Fund awareness among my clients which makes my job easier. The technology platform provided by BSDL supports consolidated portfolio statements and helps me to accurately advise my clients on their investment performance thus assisting them to plan their investments and invest through SIPs. As an advisor, promoting SIPs has worked wonders and enhanced my career greatly. The current scenario is opening new avenues for advisory services, and I am geared up for thechallenges that lay ahead
